Some time in January, I connected the dots that our mid-winter break (read: 5 days with four kids who want to be constantly entertained) perfectly coincided with the weekend Grammy and Grampy would be giving their farewell talks before their mission. It took about half a second to book the plane tickets.
Our flight left about 10 p.m. Thursday night and we got into Boise 12:30 a.m. Friday morning. No one slept. They all held on through the weekend though and no one crashed until we made it back home (on a 6 a.m. flight!).
They were up and at 'em Friday morning jumping on the trampoline FIRST thing.
We stopped by the Meridian (in Eagle) temple site to check on their progress. Amos also got to complete one of his cub scout requirements.
After the temple inspection, we took Maggie to Deseret Book for her first set of scriptures. The plan was for the kids to receive them as a baptism present, but Amos asked to read his scriptures at the ripe age of 7.5 and it seemed odd to make him wait. So, the tradition of "sometime in your baptism year" is set.
Classic Maggie choice on the scripture bag.
I wrote about Sunday already, but it was a great day to all attend church together.
Sunday night was the last supper and then it was right back Seattle Monday morning.
We had a great trip and can't wait for the next one!
