Our First Pinewood Derby

So many of the scout "things" hold no appeal for me, and the Pinewood Derby was at the top of that list. I think because I had no idea at all how to approach it...turns out, I didn't have to! It was totally Eric and Amos' deal. That was a whole lot easier to get on board with.

Winning was also easy to get on board with. Those boys of mine made a lightning fast car, and Amos won the night.

The boys made a beautiful car by keeping it simple. And adding weights.

Victory obtained, it was time to pack up and go home.

I found this little gem when I was looking through the pictures, Ward is Amos' biggest and best fan:

Imagine Children's Museum

Ward and Audrey being a part of the same preschool has been really great when it came to field trips this year. The preschool field trips together, so I didn't have to worry about getting a sitter for anyone not invited (because they're all invited!). Our most recent field trip was to Imagine Children's Museum in Everett.

I was really, really dreading the day, but it ended up being great fun! I overestimated how hard it would be with just two kids too. For the most part, the kids know how to behave these days =)

There are a million and one things to do at the museum. In fact, we didn't even get to them all. The Rooftop, with it's dinosaur dig, playground, and percussion section, was our most favorite.

It was a great day, I'm already looking forward to going back with Ward's class again next year.

All Things Audrey

This winter has been good for Audrey. She LOVES her school and her teacher. It really is an incredible school with lots of fun things happening all the time.

We all watched Grease Live! as a family, but Audrey really took to it and started to channel her inner Sandy (before Sandy, thankfully!):

Audrey had a great turn as star student at school. I tried to talk her into taking cookies as her special treat to share, but she was not having it. $$$$ Berries it was ;)

And, she's officially registered for Kindergarten in the fall! Our school district has switched over to all day kindergarten for everyone, and we're both stinking excited about it!

Friday Nights These Days

A couple weeks ago the Missionaries in our ward asked if they could come over to share a message with us. Their proposed time-Friday night. What? We totally have lives. Right? We were in fact busy. It was movie night at the school! That's a hot ticket right there ;) They open up the gym and project a movie on the big screen. We didn't bring enough pillows or blankets, but otherwise it was a great time. Next time we'll be more prepared.

Another big Friday night for us was the annual family dance at the school (last year's here). The Dance Guy was back, and again the kids had some super sweet moves to show off.

The dance was Star Wars themed and the kids HATED it. We haven't properly indoctrinated them, I suppose. They were good sports anyway though.

Thanks to the PTSA for keeping our social lives happening ;)
