It should be noted that not only did I camp this summer, but I potty trained during it (and leading up to it).
With preschool fast approaching, potty training Ward became critical as our summer was winding up. I had three weeks between our last trip to Idaho and the start of school and there was no choice but to get it done.
We did postpone Ward's birthday so as not to interfere with training. Seeing as toy and treat bribes are my training method of choice, giving him some for "free" seemed like it would have been confusing. Happily, we only celebrated his birthday one week late. And, at one year and one week Ward was my second youngest to potty train (Maggie was first at 2 years, 2 months; Audrey 3 years, 1 month, and Amos 3 years, 3 months).
The ultimate potty training reward, "space truck:"
And with that, may I never have to talk about potty training again.
