By the way, your son can breathe...

This morning when I got to the NICU there was a baby in Ward's bed with no cpap machine:

Having only seen him for only one minute without the mask on before, I had to double check the nametag to make sure it was Ward.  I honestly thought, "uh, is this my baby?"  It was!  As they stepped the cpap down over the night, he did well and is now breathing all on his own.  It seems like something they would have called to update us on, but they didn't?  Oh well, I'll take it.

From here the next step is to get him to nurse and to have no signs of infection.  So, still time and antibiotics ;)

That is kind of annoying they didn't let you know. I guess no news is good news? Like you said, either way it's a great thing and you'll take it! :) Did they ever figure out if it was Group B vs being early with underdeveloped lungs? And if it was Group B, what the heck is with your kids getting it when chances are so low?! So frustrating and sad. I really hope you all get to be together, as a family, at HOME as soon as possible!!!

It seems to be both underdeveloped lungs (which is resolved now) and an infection...they can't rule out group b, but they also haven't been able to confirm it specifically. And it seems crazy this happened a second time. Maggie could be a fluke, but 2/4 seems more like 50% odds.
