I Apologize...

...But I HAVE to put this out there.  Word verifications on blog commenting drive me absolutely INSANE.

I love the people who write the blogs I read, so I deal with it.  Today, however, I thought, what if they just don't know they can turn them off?  So, just in case that is the case, here's what you do:

1. Go to your blogger dashboard and choose 'settings,' then 'comments'.  It will look like this:

2. Scroll down and choose "no" for the "show word verification" option

Then, save it.

If you're seriously worried about spam, you can choose to moderate the comments, which is much less painful for your commenters.  I have been blogging for 5 years now, and I can remember once, maybe twice that I got spammed.  If you do get spam, you can delete it with one click.

I am one ornery day away from blacklisting the blogs with word verification, so consider yourselves on notice =p

Tonight during dinner Laura said, "People who use word verification are like old people who refuse to use credit cards".

Oh, Andrea! I honestly don't remember yours being one that had it, but that's awesome you turned it off ;) Maybe I'll need to expand my "tutorial" to include how to get back to the old template.

Dang it!! I totally read this warning post of yours and didn't change it until you posted on my blog and then I got all scared and had to go into my settings to see if I had the word ver. on or not and to my terror I DID! But don't worry, thanks to your handy instructions, the next time you comment on my blog it won't be so painful. :)

I figured it out for the one blog and not the other... maybe you were right and I should just have one.

I don't think I've ever had so many comments on one post! I always knew I'd change the world one day...

I totally changed mine. :) I had no idea. Any more tricks up your sleeve? I'm so not blog savvy. :)
