I've blogged before about my love/hate relationship with Craigslist, and this is going to be exhibit B. Another HUGE furniture success.
I've been wanting to get Amos bunk beds forever, but have hesitated mostly because of cost. I've got some crazy expensive taste, especially when it comes to furniture =) Amos has some friends who have a bunk bed, and his heart has been set on one for quite a while too. I had sorta've come to terms with the idea that an IKEA bunk bed was probably in our future, when I began my perusal of Craigslist. I could not believe my eyes when I saw this bed and the amount of money they wanted for it. It had been listed for less than 24 hours, and I knew it wouldn't last long. Normally, I try to play it cool, but I called/texted/emailed until I got a hold of the seller and committed fully to the sale.
There was a little drama with the guy cancelling the first scheduled delivery (after I told Amos and got his hopes up), but we rescheduled for today and I couldn't have been happier. Not only did he deliver it, but he set it up too.
In all it's glory, cheaper than IKEA! Mags is supposed to be on the bottom, but she says it's comfier on the top:
You'd better believe there are spider man sheets under there. Mags picked "woodland creatures" for her sheets (i.e. pink owls). I never thought I'd see the day that I had spider man sheets in my house..."woodland creatures" were to be expected.
The kids love it, now let's hope it doesn't live up to Amos' name for it ("bonk" bed).
