No Baby! No!
Yesterday I had a check-up with the baby doctor. I forgot to get a babysitter, so the kids came with us. We've been trying to warm Amos up to the idea of a new baby by telling him that "Mommy has a baby in her tummy" (I know, not entirely correct, but he's two). Seeing the doctor measure my stomach and listening to the baby's heartbeat seemed to really cause it to sink in for Amos. He patted my stomach all day saying, "baby."
Well, last night he was showing interest in my stomach again, so I asked him if he wanted a new baby. He got really upset and said, "No Baby! No!" I was surprised because he'd been really excited about the baby otherwise. I asked him again and when I saw him holding his stomach while he started to cry I realized he thought I was telling him he had a baby in his tummy! It took me a while to get him calmed down, but eventually I convinced him that only Momma had a baby in her tummy. Poor little guy!
