The carpet in the basement went in today, and with that, the size of our house has doubled. A year and 2 months and lots of blood (that thankfully the paint covered), sweat, and tears and its finished. Now that all is said and done we have added three bedrooms (functioning as Eric's office, a guest room, and the playroom), one bathroom, a storage closet, and a family room.
There is so much to be said about the project that has taken up all of our free time, energy, and money for the last year, I don't even know where to begin. We owe the success of our project to pretty much everyone we know in one way or another.
Special thanks goes out to:
The Hornes/Pop and Nan/Bruce and Nancy
The Shavers/Grampy and Grammy/Rodger and Cindy
David and Britni (and both sets of their parents)
So, on to the good stuff-pictures!
The family room. The couch, t.v. and family hangout spot:
Attached to the family room is a bedroom that we will use as the playroom for now:

The "foyer" as we like to call it. This is the area immediately at the bottom of the stairs. Eric's office is on one side and the guest room is on the other. I hope to put in a built-in craft area/study someday. But, its a bit early to be thinking about the next project:

Believe it or not, we still have a lot of work to do moving furniture, cleaning, decorating, etc. but it couldn't be better work to have to do.
