God Bless America

Today is one of those days that I'll tell my kids about forever ("I remember when the first African American became president, Amos was standing on the kitchen table and Maggie was asleep in her swing..."). I wish I was more excited about Barack Obama, but I am very excited for what he represents. I may not agree with his politics, but I think an African American president is a huge step for our country, and I hope it opens the door for all people.

I really hope Pres. Obama can do all the things that are expected of him, and if not, I hope the American people will understand that he is human and our nation's problems can't be fixed by one person. I can't help but think about Amos and Maggie, and what this may mean for them. At this point no one knows what changes will come, but I hope for the best.

Let freedom ring!
