Camera Cord Found

It took me forever to organize the pictures from Christmas on my computer, so forgive me for lack of organization here. They are in no particular order, but are all from our week in Boise. At least there will be descriptions.

Amos and I in Boise at the Qwest Arena before a Boise Stampede game:

Anna, who is on her mission in Taiwan, got to call home on Christmas day. Here we are talking to her on the phone at 6 a.m. (hence, no lights):

Amos got the cutest little nike tennis shoes for Christmas...they are shox:

I made a perfect snow angel:

Mrs. Claus:
My little sister Meg is so beautiful:

Grammy knows how to enjoy a basketball game, ice cream cone in one hand, sleeping baby in the other:

Eric managed to find some time to hunt (and fish) with my Dad and Brother-in-law, Josh (pictured) last week:

My nieces are awesome! We get along great:

Yep. We totally dressed Amos up as Santa Claus. Yep. He totally hated it:

Wii like to play

My nieces were very surprised by a Wii this Christmas. Eric took right to it and enjoyed some High School Musical singing. Sorry we've switched exclusively to video, we can't find the cord for our still camera.

A Shaver Family Christmas

Classic Shaver family entertainment: My brother-in-law, Josh, tied two sleds/saucers to the back of the four wheeler and towed my little nieces around. He didn't realize he was going to attract the attention of every dog in the neighborhood, causing one minor, but very funny, accident. Watch the whole video, its worth the wait.

More Boise

Its been snowing *a lot* here. Not really *a lot*, but enough to build some snowmen.

My Dad, and nieces Carrie and Ali

We've been playing *a lot* of games. Including: The Mexican Train Game, Settlers of Catan, Phase 10, Chicken Foot, Cranium, and Pit. This time it really is *a lot.*

Brother In-law Josh, Morgan, Meg, Me, and Eric.

Cousin Morgan quit playing with Amos and just started playing with his toys.

It's Been A While

We're in Boise at my parents house for Christmas. Amos has been busy getting loved by Grammy and Grampy and playing with his cousin Morgan.

Christmas came early

Tonight I convinced Eric to let me open my Christmas present early, not that it took much effort. We've never actually made it until Christmas, so why start now? Here is how it went...

My little sister Meg is in town, she is the third voice and camerawoman.

Laughing Bean

Amos has started to laugh, its really funny:

A few of you know that on our wedding day Eric and I (and our closest friends and family) went to Fuddruckers. I was determined to not be a hungry bride, and I wasn't. We got married in Lake Oswego, Oregon and then had a two hour drive to Eugene, Oregon where our reception was later that same night. We had to get something to eat in between the two, and Fuddruckers was the only logical choice.

Tonight we went back to Fuddruckers, with some of those same friends to celebrate before Christmas. Its crazy how much had changed in the last two years (a marriage, an engagement, new jobs, new houses, and a baby for crying out loud!), but there we all were again.

Rob (this picture isn't at Fuddruckers, but Rob was at Fuddruckers, so I couldn't leave him out)

Christmas is coming

I am working on my Christmas cards and I realized I am seriously lacking on my address list. (I blame the Internet). Will you all please email me your mailing address so I can send you a card? I'd love it! I'm too lazy to be a stalker, so there's really no bad that can come from this. =)

New Stats

Here are the little runt's new stats:

eight: 10 lbs, 1 oz. (20%)
Length/Height: 23.5 in (75%)
Head circumference: 38.9 cm (25%)

The shots were just a traumatic for me as expected (Amos did fine). Luckily, Eric showed up at the appointment and surprised me. I was very grateful for the support. He brought me a smoothie to help me feel better too. Amos is happily swinging away now, we'll see how the rest of the day goes.

Bad news for Grandmas everywhere

Our camera broke today (yeah, talk about irony with my little blog about not being into picture-less blogs). There are a few pictures left on the camera, but there aren't going to be any new ones until we get a new camera. This puts a big damper on the digi scrapping too. I wish I had a camera to take a picture of the broken camera, because I haven't ever seen anything like it. The screen just sort of shattered from the inside. I guess its time to start looking into cameras, I've had the same one for a couple of years, so I don't even know what to look for.

The passing of this camera makes me think of all of the places we have been together. I took it to EFY a couple summers, which means it saw a lot of different college campuses (UCSB, Lewis & Clark, Boise State, Sonoma State, Kansas State to name a few). It took some great pictures of Kris wearing Brett's pants, and Brett wearing Kris' pants. I had it when I started dating Eric, it took a lot of pictures of that. It was at our wedding, and went on our honeymoon with us. It documented our first two years of marriage, and the birth of Amos. (Maybe that's why it broke? We took too many pictures of Amos! ) At least this camera had a good long life, with lots of happy memories stored in it, if only temporarily. R.I.P. little buddy.

I haven't written since Wednesday

There are many things to blog about, but our camera battery died and we don't have the appropriate accompanying photographs. I only believe in picture books, so I guess I only believe in picture blogs too.

I am really digging all of this new snow, except when I have to drive in it. Luckily I have my private chauffeur, Eric.

I am getting really anxious for Christmas, mostly because it will help me measure time. I realized last Thursday (or was it Wednesday?) that I had no idea what day it was, much less the date. I do still know the year, but I bet it takes me a lot longer to adjust to '08 than any year before.

Those are all of my current thoughts, without pictures. This is why I only believe in picture blogs.

Swing Baby is 9 weeks old

Amos is 9 weeks old today! I can hardly believe it, except that he is getting a lot heavier. He has a check-up next week (yes, the dreaded "get his shots" check-up), so we'll have some stats on the little bean soon.

Our First Christmas Tree

We did it! We finally got a tree, put it up, and decorated it. I've been buying ornaments for years, and its about time I had a tree to put them on. Its the first tree we've had since we've been married, and our first Christmas in our house, so its all very exciting. Not too mention that its Amos' first Christmas too! He doesn't know what is going on, but he loves to stare at the lights and sparkly ornaments.

We opted for a native Utah it looks a little different than the ones I am used to seeing. I love the way the ornaments actually hang off of the branches (as opposed to being buried inside the tree). My favorite ornament of all:

I'm Addicted

To Digi Scrapping. Ridiculous, I know. How many of you said I would turn into a scrapbooker, and I adamantly denied it. I was sure I wouldn't get into it, because I am horrible at it. It is also a very expensive hobby. Digital scrapbooking, however, is something I can handle. If there is one thing I know, its computers (thanks to a scheduling mix-up in the 6th grade that put me in a computer class meant for nerds). I have also found access to many free downloads of "supplies." So, if I'm not blogging, you can bet I am Digi Scrapping.
